Love Padlocks on Paris Bridge

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:40 PM by inspirationsbysd

While crossing a bridge in Paris, I think we were heading towards Musee d’Orsay if I am not mistake, that is when I spotted hundreds and hundreds of padlocks on the bridge’s railing. Some were engraved with initials, others wrote the date they were here, it apparently is a common custom between lovers not only in Paris, but world-wide (that I did not know of! lol) to lock the padlock and throw the key with your loved one to symbolize eternal love …sweet! Too bad we didn’t have one on us that day! If you are ever passing by, and into the mushy romantic stuff, then make sure you have one on you. Even though it appears that they may not be there forever, the city is thinking of removing them and placing them on a metal tree, since the locks on the bridge is an eye sore!

Luv,

Sara D.

They can take them off, but in May 2012, I’m putting one on in honour of my son who passed away this past May 30, 2011. Sometime between the anniversary of his birth, May 3, 1971 and and his death on May 30, 2012.
